Matthew "Matt" Helders (born May 7, 1986) is an English musician, best known as the drummer and backing vocalist for the Sheffield-based rock band Arctic Monkeys.
Helders is one of the founding members of Arctic Monkeys, forming the band with Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, and Andy Nicholson in 2002. He is renowned for his energetic and innovative drumming style, which has been a key element in the band's signature sound.
Beyond his drumming contributions, Helders also provides backing vocals for many Arctic Monkeys tracks and has occasionally taken on lead vocals. He is considered a vital creative force within the band, known for his musical input and influence on their overall sound and direction.
